OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY

HRCLS is committed to providing services and working environments that not only protect children from harm, but that promote the wellbeing of children.

As a service of Upper Murray Family Care (UMFC), a community service organisation that supports children and families, our statement of commitment is supported in policy.

We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with a disability.

HRCLS is responsible for ensuring that all staff who provide direct or indirect services to children understand how to interact safely with child clients and all children in the community.

Children and young people are an area of focus in the HRCLS strategic plan, Our Strategy 2020-2025.

HRCLS ensures child safety by requiring all staff to have a valid Working with Children Check in Victoria and NSW.
